A Tribute to Betty Gaudin

Betty Gaudin

January 23, 1933 - December 27, 2022

Betty was an original member of the McNaught Homestead Preservation Society (2005) and served on the Board as Chair and other executive positions. She was valued for her knowledge of the McNaught family and the history of the area. Betty was always willing to help at our events such as the Spring Art Auction and Dinner, the Summer Festival and the Ghost Walk. In her later years she spent countless hours sitting at registration tables encouraging people to visit the Homestead and to donate to the Homestead Society. She wrote many thank you notes and receipts for donated items and financial support.

Betty also volunteered with many other Beaverlodge organizations including St Luke’s Church, Beaverlodge Art and Culture Society and the Beaverlodge Historical Society.

Betty loved to visit the Boardwalk and Lookout at McNaught Lake. In September 2022 at the age of 89 she made one last trip for a picnic with Cathrine Gabriel, Marjorie Henn, Lori Spears, and Heather Gaudin.

Betty will be missed by all who knew her and the friendship she gave to all who met her.
